Q1. What will be the nature of course?

The course will be fully online (as it is a Massive Open Online Course) and there are no specific remote center/physical participation required. Hence, you can access the course from your home as well. Once the week starts, you can access the particular week's contents till the end of the course. Learners can watch the videos at their own pace.

If you are new to the IITBombayX platform please check https://iitbombayx.in/faq to understand about MOOCs under IITBombayX. Also do take the IITBombayX Demo Course first to understand how the various features within the IITBombayX platform allows self-paced learning (including assessment).

Q2. Is physical/virtual interactions required for this course?

As mentioned above, IITBombayX does not require any remote center or similar synchronous interactions. We (Course Design Team) however are thinking of creating Sustainable Learning Communities (SLC's) among interested schools, but more details about this will be available by May 1 as we need to see the participation in the course.

Q3. What is the duration of course?

The course will be of 6 week duration and will start on April 6, 2017.

Q4. How to register for the course?

If you do not have an IITBombayX account, first register for an IITBombayX account.

Now login to IITBombayX using the registered account

Once you have logged in with IITBombayX account, go to the course webpage and register for the course

Q5. I have registered for the course, now what?

Good start. The course is formally going to start on April 6, and a pre-course survey has been initiated from March 20. More details will be informed in the Course Page. Regularly monitor this page from March 20 onwards for more information.

In the meanwhile if you have friends/colleagues who are interested in similar courses, please forward the information.

Q6. What are the technical requirements needed in order to access this course?

Headphones, good Internet connectivity and an updated Browser(Firefox or Google Chrome preferred)

Q7. I have registered for the course, but I didn't receive a confirmation email?

If you are registering for IITBombayX platform for the first time, check whether you received an account activation email.

Q8. I am from Social Science background. Can I attend?

The course, as its name suggest, is primarily aimed at in-service School teachers or B.Ed students who intend to pursue a career in teaching. So yes, you can join.

The benefits will substantially increase if you have a partner or a group of partners from your own domain to take this course along with you. We will try to assist you through discussion forums and carefully designed learning extending activities.

Q9. By when and how should assignments be submitted?

Participating teachers will have one week to go through each module and 10 days for each assignment.

Check the last page of course handout pdf under Course Info tab for details of number of assignments to be submitted.

Q10. I am an existing user of variety of Educational Technology. How can I contribute to this course?

This is great to hear. We do hope that you will be an active participant in several of the discussion forums and contribute to the learning community of ET611Tx.

Q11. Will I be notified that the course has begun and lectures are uploaded in the site?

Yes, emails will be sent each week before release of the course resources and there will be reminders sent one day before the final date of assignment submission

Q12. What time of the day does the session start?

It is an online course. It can be taken any time of the day. It is open 24 hrs.

Q13. By when/how should I submit my assignments?

Teachers will have one week to go through each module and 10 days to submit each assignment. Assignment submission will be online.

Q14. How do I solve my doubts in a topic?

There are discussion forums where you can post your doubts/questions. Our TAs will be regularly monitoring and responding the forum.

Q15. How will I get my certificate?

The certificate will be ready in 10-14 days after the end of the course. This will be available online and can be downloaded.
