Copy Block (text)

  • Place cursor at the beginning of the block you want to copy
  • Ctrl + Alt + Shift and drag your mouse
  • Move left and right with the keyboard cursor.
  • Modify what you desire
  • Copy (Ctrl + C) -- while the block of text is selected
  • Paste (Ctrl + V) -- at the required position
Toggle Un-named bookmark Ctrl + Shift + B
Toggle named bookmark Ctrl + Shift + 0..9
Navigate bookmark
  • For easy navigation of 1st three bookmarks, click on the bookmark number in the bottom right.
  • To view list of bookmarks, click 'Side Panel' in the bottom left > 'Bookmark icon'
  • Click on the desired bookmark from the list to go to the bookmarked text in TeXStudio
Remove bookmark
  • This can be done in 2 ways:
  1. Click on the purple bookmark in the gray panel (just next to the text in TeXStudio)
  2. Right-click on the bookmark in the list and click 'Remove'

Find (Ctrl+ F)

Command Shortcut
Count occurrences Enter the text in the find box and click the button
Case sensitive Toggle button for case sensitive search.
Whole words Toggle button to search for only entire word
Highlight matches Toogle button. When 'on', highlights the search matches
Search in the selected text Toggle button that searches only in the selected text.
Regular expressions Search using regular expressions

These commands/buttons can be used along with 'Replace' as well.


Replace (Ctrl + R)

Command Shortcut
Replace and find next Replaces and finds the next match
Relace and find previous Replaces and finds the previous match
Replace all Replaces all the matches
Ask before any match is replaced Toggle button. Confirms before replacing each match
Use escape characters Toggle button to use escape characters in 'find and replace'

LaTeX

Environment \begin{env} ... \end{env} Ctrl + E

PDF

Build and View (pdf) F5
Close pdf viewer Esc
Go to 1st page in pdf Home
Go to last page in pdf End
Go to source Ctrl + Click (text in pdf)
Go to pdf Right click on text in editor > Go to pdf
